Following on from (season 2004-05), our first year at 11 a side, we are looking forward to the coming season, the squad is now stronger and the players are playing with more confidence, especially after winning the Willen World Cup plate tournament with some fine displays of football, New players are still welcome to come along for a try out for our ever improving team

MK Wanderers 5 Old Stratford Lightning 4
Nearing the end of the 2005-2006 season we had two matches to play, against two top teams, the first was a decider of who ever won the match would probably win the league. It ended in a tense 3-3 draw after we were winning 3-0, which meant we had to win our final match to clinch the title.
The last match came and we went 2-1 down and then dropped down to 4-2 at half time due to a nervous start, with goals from Cameron and Warren to keep us in the match.
The performance in the second half improved and we pulled it back to 4-4 with goals from Darrell and Jamie, the seconds were ticking away as we missed chance after chance with constant pressure, finally five minutes from time Luke broke through and chipped the ball over the keeper to win the league. |
