Saturday 16th February 2008 North Bucks & District League Div 2 MK WANDERERS – 4 GT HORWOOD – 1
1st HALF Wanderers went into this game looking to build on last weeks vital win and they started well, playing at a good tempo the lads had Horwood on the back foot early on and with the lively Alistair Bucknall making his debut stepping up from the u17 squad looked likely to take the lead. As the first half went on Horwood started to counter attack well and were denied what looked like a stone wall penalty with Mike Wakemen bringing down the forward in the box when one on one, a lucky escape which wanderers failed to take advantage of, after losing possession in the Horwood half, a decisive through ball opened up the wanderers defence allowing the forward to slip the ball past mike to put Gt Horwood 1-0 up at halftime. 2nd HALF The second half started with continued wanderers pressure and an equaliser always looked like coming, especially with the impressive Alistair bucknall causing problems for Horwood defence, the ref awarded a penalty to wanderers after a Horward handball with Carl ware taking responsibility for the kick to make it 1-1, soon after a good attack down the right allowed Dave hamper deliver a deep cross to the far post where Michael brown tapped the ball home to give wanderers the lead. This seemed to raise the confidence and we were now playing some flowing football, a Dave hamper shot from the edge of the box hit the bar and with Tim Dawson following up to knock the ball in the game was effectively won. The boys keep pressing forward and a number of changes went begging, a free kick for wanderers own half was superbly hit by Dan Entecott, splitting the Horwood defence to find Alistair Bucknall in the box whose bravery in getting in his header was rewarded with his first senior goal to make it 4-1, overall a pleasing result, with the management now looking for a higher level of consistency to be shown over the full 90 minutes.

Saturday 9th February 2008 North Bucks & District League Div 2 MK WANDERERS – 3 SHERINGTON – 2
1st half Wanderers went into this fixture in a confident mood and started the game very brightly. The lads were playing some attractive football and were on top form from the start, without really threaten the Sherington goal. Despite having the better of the game Wanderers found themselves 2-0 down at half-time, mainly due to some sloppy defensive play, with Sherington taking advantage to go ahead against the run off play. 2nd half The second half started as did the first with Wanderers getting the better of a strong Sherington side, but still with no end product. After 55mins Paul Fox came off the bench to replace Chris Pawsey in a formation change that saw Wanderers go to three at the back with five in midfield. This was to prove a turning point in the game as Foxy was outstanding in the Wanderers comeback. It was a good exchange of passes between Foxy and Rob Wilks on the right which allowed Foxy to deliver a quality cross into the box for Matt Cully to head into the net to give Wanderers a deserved opening goal. Wanderers continued to press and minutes later the influential Paul Fox again delivered a superb cross, this time for Michael Brown to head into the corner to get Wanderers back on level terms, with Callum Curtis coming off the bench. Wanderers were piling on the pressure on the Sherington goal and a loose ball in the area pounded on by Carl Ware to put Wanderers in front for the first time. A tactical change saw the late introduction of Dan Entecott to revert to 4-4-2, replacing the hard working John Simons, some late Sherington pressure was dealt with comfortably by determined Wanderers defence, who held out a vital three points in our quest for a top three finish. The management team Gavin and Dave would like to thank every member of the squad for the effort and commitment shown in this crucial fixture.

Saturday 2nd February 2008 North Bucks & District League Div 2 Charlton 0 Mk Wanderers res 7
1st half Wanderers were looking to bounce back from last weeks poor performance and got the perfect start in the opening minutes when Wanderers were awarded a free kick on the adage of Charlton 18yrd box and Tim Dawson struck the ball perfectly into the top corner, this settled the team down and they started knocking the ball around well. The 2nd goal came from a Tim Dawson corner which was met by Michael brown, and from then on the result was never in doubt, Wanderers continued to push forward and another corner from Tim Dawson found the returning John Simons, who headed the ball into the net for his 1st goal of the season o make it 3-0,soon after Carl ware raced onto a through ball and with good strength to shrug off a defender smashed the ball past the keeper 4-0,further pressure resulted in another corner from which Michael brown hooked the ball in to give wanderers a convincing 5-0 lead at half time. 2nd half The second half continued with Wanderers looking to add to their tally, and after about 20mins Tim Dawson made it 6-0 direct from a corner, Wanderers made a number of chances but it was a goal mouth scramble which led to Dave Ashcroft putting the ball away. Special praise goes once again to Mike Wakeman who made at least 4 outstanding saves to keep a very well deserved clean sheet.

Saturday 26th January 2008 North Bucks & Distric League Div 2 E & H 5 MK Wanderers Res 0
After a good run of results, Wanderers Res turned in by far their worst performance of the seasonand were comfortably beaten by an average opposition. Trailing 4-0 at half time the lads showed a bit of character in the 2nd half and were unlucky not to find the net on a couple of occasions. However it was always going to be damage limitation and in the end we got exactly what they deserved conceding a 5th goal to cap a very disappointing afternoon. Special praise goes to Mike Wakeman who despite conceding 5 goals ,turned out an outstanding performance.

SYRESHAM RES 1 – MK WANDERERS 2
Wanderers travelled to Syresham and in difficult conditions and a heavy pitch found it tough, going against the wind in the first half. As early as the 15th minute Dan Entecott replaced by Kevin Celia due to illness and soon after this Syresham had a goal disallowed for offside. The game was a scrappy affair and Syresham were awarded a penalty after Chris Pawsey challenge. Which was put wide leaving the scores 0-0 at half time. Changes were made at half-time.Callum Curtis coming on in midfield with Mark Hill dropping in at full back replacing Chris Pawsey through injury. Now playing with the wind Wanderers started brightly and in the 47th minute Rob Wilkes delivered a quality cross into the box for Tim Dawson to finish well. Wanderers continued to create chances and in the 62nd minute David Ashcroft replaced Carl Ware,3 minutes after this, possession was lost in midfield and Syresham broke away quickly to equalise. Wanderers didn’t let their heads drop and continued to push forward with Michael Brown going close with a header which hit the bar. Wanderers were awarded a free kick on half way with Paul Fox feeding the ball wide to Dave Hamper who whipped in a quality cross for Michael Brown to head into the corner of the net, giving Wanderers a deserved lead. Wanderers continued to put pressure on the Syresham goal and finished the game strongly, running out deserved winners and gaining 3 valuable points.

Saturday 3rd November 2007 North Bucks Division 2 GERNDON RES 2 VS MK WANDERERS RES 4
1st half wanderers reserves travelled to grendon to try and get back on a winning streak and with the squad numbers a bit more settled Gavin and myself and a nice problem of team selection, we started the game in a standard 4 4 2 formation, the game started at a slow pace from both teams and after about 15 mins a Dan entecott free kick was parried away only for the ball to land and callum to cut the ball back to Carl wares feet for him to slot away to put wanderers 1-0 up, we pushed on creating some good chances but as in previous weeks not taking them when we should almost cost us with some good movement from grendons No11 who put the ball into the side netting from close range Half time 1-0
2nd half Wanderers came out and pilled the pressure on with chances from callum Curtis, john Simons and Dave hamper all saved or hit just wide of the target grendon then had a player sent off for bad mouthing the referee for a free kick given against him so it was only a matter of time for Dave Ashcroft to receive a ball to his feet turn and nutmeg the centre half and smash the ball into the top left corner 2-0, wanderers them pressed on even more with browny coming out of the back 4 more and more and then delivering a quality cross from our right to the far post for Tim Dawson to head the ball home 3-0, grendon then came back after a mistake from rob Wilkes out wide gave grendon a throw that ended up with a cross and a quick shot from one of their forwards catching john Evans cold and putting them 3-1 down Gavin asked mark hill to press on up field and it payed off as getting to the touch line he delivered a quality ball for Tim Dawson to grab his second of the game 4-1, but as in previous weeks wanderers switched off and a mistake from the skipper foxy not getting enough distance on a clearance the ball got passed through to a grendon player who finished well the game ended 4-2

SATURDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER
MK WANDERERS RES 5 V CHARLTON 0
After 2 wins back to back the reserves were looking to keep winning after their poor start to the season,
1ST HALF The game started at quick pace with both teams putting in solid challenges but the game soon settled down wanderers played some great football ending with Carl Ware getting our 1st goal on 20mins, Charlton pressed on well with a few diagonal balls that caught our defence cold but with some great determination Richard Cook and Paul Fox both made great challenges to stop Charlton scoring, we asked for the ball to be played out wide as there were acres of space for our 2 wingers Dave Hamper and Callum Curtis and the second time we did get the ball out there Callum Curtis put us 2-0 up with 2 mins till half time.
2ND HALF Gavin and myself gave the players a few things to do in the second half and dropped Carl Ware back to central midfield from centre forward and pushed Dan Jones up top with Dave Ashcroft and within 5 mins Dan grabbed our third goal of the game with a superb individual effort Wanderers kept the pressure on but with some great defending by Charlton’s No6 it was hard work but on 75mins Dave Hamper added to the score with a diagonal run that put him through to grab a goal that looked like it may have been an own goal but Hamper claimed it as all players would Dave Ashcroft made it 5-0 on 80mins with some quick feet much to our surprise only joking’ Dave it was a chance made by himself a deserved goal, Charlton pushed right up to the final whistle the game ended 5-0 a game played fairly by both teams with some excellent refereeing by D.Brennan
