WESTBURY 1 MK WANDERERS 6
Wanderers went into this game in high spirits after last weeks great result and on a pitch that’s not the best, and played some very attractive football to secure an important win.
After only 3mins John Simons hooked the ball in from close range following a corner to give Wanderers an early lead. This was followed by some goof Wanderers pressure where chances were created but the finishing touch wasn’t quite there. This allowed Westbury back into the game and after Wanderers failed to clear the ball from the edge of the area, the Wesbury forward broke through to slot the ball home to make it 1-1 at half time.
The second half stated as did the first and in the opening minutes, Carl Ware was put clean through and with the keeper missing his kick had an open goal to tap the ball into. Soon after the ball broke free on the edge of the Westbury box finding Alistair Bucknall who coolly chipped the ball over the keeper into the net to make it 3-1. Wanderers continued to press and after some good work from Alistair Bucknall and a brave header from Mark Hill the ball fell into Carl Ware who gave the keeper no chance with a quality finish into the corner. With the game won Wanderers were still pushing forward and a good run forward provided Dan Entecott with his first goal of the season to make it 5-1. The final and sixth goal came from David Ashcroft, who after coming from the bench on his return from injury, coolly knocked the ball past the keeper when one on one.
Overall a very pleasing display and another vital three points.
