Saturday 29th November Preston Gawcott 1 v MK Kestrels 8 “Fraser Gives Us Fire”
Kestrel’s steady improvement continued in Gawcott on Saturday 29th Nov. After 10 minutes of sparring, Fraser Mitchell broke away and kept his cool as he found the corner of the net from 15 yards. Minutes later Mitchell scored again, after fine work from midfield dynamo Dan Fraser.
Gawcott came back strong and 2 fine saves from keeper Alex Rath kept them out. Then seconds before half time Cameron Morgan kicked the ball up 20 yards out and hit a magnificent shot bound for the corner of the net...only to see the Gawcott keeper make the save of the season! Fortunately for Kestrels, the intelligent Wail Osman was following up to make it 3-0.
Kestrels started the second half on fire and within 10 minutes Fraser Mitchell scored 3 more goals. All 3 goals were made by livewire striker Travis Jacobs. Jacobs then helped himself to a brace before the final whistle. Dominic Hincks and Shane Saunders had fine games and Samir Masad was superb in defence.
5 goal “man of the match” Fraser Mitchell, was throwing more high-fives than Snoop Doggy Dog at the final whistle. |
Saturday 8th November Cranfield Tornados 1 v MK Kestrels 4 “Kestrels in Raptors”
Cranfield started the game on fire and went close to a goal 3 times. Strong Hearts were needed and Samir Masad, Dominic Hinks and Shane Saunders supplied the demand. Saunders especially took the game by the “scruff of the neck”. Slowly but surely kestrels got on top and minutes before half time they scored.
Dan Fraser turned on a sixpence 8 yards out and slot sweetly into the corner of the net. It was was end to end stuff as the second half progressed, with keeper Alex Rath and defender Dominic Hinks defending superbly. Saunders and Masad were winning tackle after tackle as the kestrels pushed forward.
Then after fine work from Fraser Mitchell, Travis Jacobs ghosted into the box and steered the ball home, with the class of a top striker. Then a Cranfield corner flew off the head of Shane Saunders into the Kestrels net. Just to make it interesting. Cranfield conceded two own goals to complete the scoring in a great match. Kestrels captain Samir Masad was outstanding. So how good was Shane Saunders?
Who was “Player of the Match?” Kestrels were seen soaring over Cranfield airport...Below MK Kestrels were flying up the league table! |
Saturday 20th September 2008 (Round 1 - Cup) Olney Town Sharks 0 MK Wanderers Kestrels 2 Kestrels swoop to deal with sharks
From the kick off Kestrels were into there stride with a crunching tackle from the “player of the year” Fraser Mitchell. Whose pass then found Wail Osman, who turned and shot inches wide. Olney came back, and a sliding tackle from “skipper” Samir Masad, dealt with the danger. Dan Fraser and Shane Saunders were now dominating midfield, with Travis Jacobs causing havoc in the Olney defence. Seconds before half time kestrels excellent keeper Alex Rath dealt comfortably with an Olney attack. Kestrels started the second half strongly, with Cameron Morgan making tackle, after tackle. With penalties on the horizon Travis Jacobs broke clear to steer the ball home from 12 yards. Just reward, for the workaholic striker. With Dominic Hincks outstanding in defence and a late goal from Jacobs, the job was completed. Every player was “Man of the Match” as Kestrels move onto the next round of the cup. |
Alex Rath
Alex is a fine goalkeeper in the mould of Newcastle United’s Shane Given. Alex put in a 10/10 performance away to Willen FC in November. He made 3 saves that Shane Given would be proud of. A top goalkeeper with a great attitude. Great Lad.
Shane Saunders
Shane is a very hard worker in the Michael Essien mould. If there is an important tackle to be made Shane will be there. Shane also has an eye for goal. Probably Kestrels fittest player. Great energy, great attitude, great lad.
Dan Frazer
Dan is a Man City fan and plays a similar way to City’s Michael Johnson. Like all good midfielders he can defend and attack. Another big hearted player with a great attitude. Very likeable personality. Great Lad.
Samir Masad
Kestrels skipper Samir is a player with a big heart, in the John Terry mould! He never gives up and is a pleasure to coach. He has a good personality and bonds the players together. Good professional attitude. Great lad.
Travis Jacobs
In the six months Kestrels have been formed Travis has been our most consistent performer. Travis works and works, he can tackle, pass and score goals! A Liverpool fan who’s favourite is Fernando Torres. The things is, Travis is more like the brilliant Wayne Rooney. He just loves football. Great attitude, Great lad.
Fraser Mitchell
Fraser is a tall athletic defender in the Rio Ferdinand mould. Strong in the tackle and a good passer of the ball. Fraser has a great easy going personality and is well liked by all the players. Great attitude, great lad.
Joe Evans
Joe joined us in November and this was Kestrels lucky day. What a player, tackles, passes, scores goals and runs all day. Plenty of Stevie Gerrard about Joe. All of that but the most pleasuring thing about Joe is his happy and pleasant personality. Great attitude, great lad.
Matt Robinson
For someone so young, Matt has got an excellent football brain. He knows when to pass and when to hold the ball. Great natural ability and scores goals for fun. Though he is more like a right-footed Robbie Fowler. A good listener and easy to coach. Great lad.
Leke Shodunke
Leke was our last signing and what a great signing. Another four letter name ‘KAKA’ springs to mind when you see Leke play. Although Leke is left footed he has the flair of the brilliant Brazilian. A great lad with great attitude. |
Saturday 24th November 2007 DRAYTON PARK 0 MK WANDERERS KESTRELS 16

Saturday 16th November 2007 BROOKFIELD RANGERS 0 MK WANDERERS KESTRALS 8
"JACOBS CRACKER" Goalkeeper Alex Rath and defenders Fraser Mitchell, Dan Fraser and Samir Masad were the cornerstone of this excellent victory away to Brookfield Rangers.
