The under 11's are managed and coached by David Cattigan (who also coaches MK Special Dons) , please give Dave a call if you want more information on how to join the team. Players for this age group are training on Friday evenings at Kents Hill Pavilion during the summer months (April to September) and Leon School & Sports College during the winter months (October to March) from 18:00hrs to 19:00hrs.
Matches are played at Kents Hill Pavilion on Saturday mornings at either 09:30hrs or 11:00hrs.

DELAPRE DRAGONS DAZZLERS: 2 – U11 HAWKS: 5
(U11 Cup 2nd round)
Hawks looked like they meant business from the start as they began their first game wearing the new kit sponsored by Web Warehouse.
There were chances for both sides in the early stages of the game, and it was Delapre who took the lead in the 5th minute when they took advantage of the gaps in the Hawks’ defence. Hawks responded well to this early setback and continued to create chances, with particularly good efforts from Ben and Kai.
In the 9th minute Hawks were awarded a penalty. The Delapre goalkeeper made a good save from Kai’s spot kick but Ben reacted really well to follow up and poke the ball into the net.
Both sides continued to create chances, and although Hawks looked most likely to score Delapre regained the lead in the 26th minute with a well taken free kick from the edge of the box. Hawks weren’t behind for long, as in the 30th minute Harry R. threaded a nice ball to Kai who had his back to goal but had the time and space to swivel round and score.
Hawks continued to work hard and had several good attempts on goal, but it wasn’t until the 42nd minute that they took the lead for the first time as Tiller ran through, beat a defender and scored with a cool finish to make the score 3 – 2.
Hawks increased their lead in the 56th minute as Alfie held off a strong challenge in front of goal to score, and in the final minute of the game Harry R. made it 5 – 2 with a cross/shot from the left that the Delapre keeper was unable to hold on to.
This was a strong performance, and it was particularly encouraging to see the fighting spirit throughout the team right to the end of the game. There were several contenders for Man of the Match, which was eventually awarded to Kai. |
