Man of the Match: ‘The whole Team’

Brook End Colts Panthers (1) v MKW (9) 28.10.06

Well done everyone. Today we were back to our best. We got off to a good start, scoring first. Keeping our heads up after Brook End equalised, we ended the first half 3-1 up. This came with good positioning, communication and passing. After making a few changes, the second half was the best 30 mins of football we have seen all season! We scored another 6 goals, finishing the game 9-1 winners. All our players were involved in our goals, with four goal scorers. Well done to Zak for getting his first hat trick. Well done to Brook End, with a depleted squad and only just managing to field nine players, they did very well to battle to the final whistle.

Man of the Match: Zak

MKW (1) v Bletchley Colts (2) 14.10.06

Is this a question of déjà vu!!!! Today we had too many players not on form. Particularly disappointed with the ‘couldn’t be bothered’ attitude that some players displayed. Well done to the players who did try hard and kept going till the end of what was a very difficult game.

Man of the Match: Farris

Southcott Owls (2) v MKW (8) 23.09.06

Following on from our first game, another great result. A good performance from Southcott Owls kept the score to 1-1 at half time. But, in the second half our quality of passing and movement shone through. With 8 goals coming from seven players it was another great team performance.

Man of the Match: Farris

MKW (4) v Preston Gawcott (0) 16.09.06

An absolutely fantastic start. A great team performance showing good shape, good passing and with a clean sheet for our new keeper and 2 goals from our new striker. I could not have asked for more. Well done boys.

Man of the Match: Zak
Our season so far….

Our season started with three grading games, starting on the 10th September 05, against Royal British Legion Youth. We only had six players in our team, playing against seven and a multitude of subs. We took an absolute hammering, but hats off to our boys who kept battling till the final whistle.

We then played Brook End Colts Panthers on the 17th September 05. This time we had seven players, which recovered well from last weeks hammering, holding Brook End to a 0-0 draw.

On the 24th September 05, still unable to have the luxury of a sub, we played Water Eaton Green. We battled well, and scored our first two goals in a game, which ended 6-2 to Water Eaton Green.

On the 8th October 05, we travelled to Woburn Lions Tornadoes to play in the 1st round of the Danny Bolger Cup. This was the first time we had the luxury of a sub, now we have a new player in our team. For 56 minutes of the game I thought we were the better team. We were winning 1-0 four minutes before half time, when a lapse of concentration and a loss of shape, we conceded three goals in four minutes. The second half was well fought out by both teams, and the final score was 4-2 to Woburn Lions Tornadoes. Well done and welcome to Luke, for scoring on his debut.

The 15th October 05, was the start of this seasons League Games. We got off to a fantastic start. All the hard work and commitment shown by our boys is paying off. We played away to Downs Barns, in a game which ended 5-1 to the Wanderers. Well done to Michael for scoring a sensational hat trick.

The 29th October 05, we played a home game against Grendon Ranger Gold. This was a great game for us, against the run of play we found ourselves 2-1 down at half time. After making a couple of changes, this game ended 4-2 to the Wanderers. Once again our boys were showing good attitude and determination. Well done to Adam for scoring his first two goals.

The 5th November 05. We played an away game against Leighton Town Youth, who have also won their first two opening league games. This was an extremely well fought game, with many chances created throughout a game, which ended 3-2 to Leighton Town Youth, but it could have gone either way! Well done to Michael for winning the man of the match.
