| Under 12 Kestrels - 2007-08 Season |
MK&DJ7's League Saturday 13th September 2008 Woodside Rovers 4 v MK Wanderers Kestrels 4 Kestrels 1st game at 9 a side and up 2 divisions to division 3. Kestrels started off positively and soon got the ball on the deck and started playing the ball around.
Against the run of play Woodside opened the scoring, although the Kestrels soon got back into the game through Dairan's equalizer
The game was end to end, Kestrels creating some good chances, Ben and Matthew splitting the Woodside defence with some wonderful passes.
Kestrels kept attacking and some indecisive finishing was all that kept it at 1-1.
After some good passing the ball found it's way to Dairan who yet again put the ball into the back of the net to give the Kestrels a 2-1 lead.
A long ball out from the Woodside defense found them on the attack and the shot was saved by Jason only for him to see the ball back spin past him and into the net, and then just before half time a defensive error let in Woodside, again the ball being saved and the yet again it had back spin and found it's way to the net.
A break from Jake from his own box past 3 players found him in the Woodside box and firing in a cross that neither Theo or Dairan could get to.
HALF TIME 3-2 to Woodside Rovers
Kestrels began the 2nd half brightly, Kenzo working hard down the left and never giving up on losing the ball.
With the ball seeming to go out, Ben not willing to give it up, beat a couple of defenders and pulled a cross back for Matthew to flick in at the near post.
Time for the defense of Jamie and Dan to be solid, with the help of Yousef, again with the game being stretched chances were coming at both ends, Jason making a great save to keep the Kestrels in the game.
Woodside attacked and the tiredness was kicking in and Woodside went 4-3 up with their best attack of the match.
Kestrels never gave up against their opponents who came down from division 2, and a great run from Yousef saw him fire in the equalizer into the top corner.
Final whistle came and a fair result for the 1st game of the season, once the boys get used to the 9 a side game they will give this league a good go, some of the Kestrels passing was outstanding, just maybe a couple of lack of concentrations and maybe we could of had all 3 points. |
