SATURDAY 22nd SEPTEMBER - KENTS HILL PAVILION, KENTS HILL
This is a week later than originally planned to give us more time to pull it together so if you have already communicated out the old date please tell your squad of the 22nd.
The core event of the MKW Day will be a sponsored Penalty Shoot Out Competition. Each and every one of our squads ( including the two Mens XI and two Ladies XI ) will be asked to take part and each age group will be given a time slot to turn up on Saturday 22nd at Kents Hill and take thier penalties. A player will attempt 5 penalties and hopefully be sponsored lots of money based on how many he/she scores.
The sponsorship form is attached and I would ask that all managers / coaches to print off enough copies and hand them out to players / parents at your next training session with a covering newsletter telling them about our MK Wanderers Day. The sponsorship element is important so please do this without fail and encourage the players over the next month or so to get as many donations as possible on the sheets. Get it round family, friends, relatives, school, work or anywhere where we can raise money to help run this club.
The Managers will organise the taking of their team penalties on the day and record who has scored the most. We want to find the penalty champion from each squad so it may be that in the event of a tie there is a suden death shoot out. When we have identified the penalty champions from each squad ( some 20 players) they will shoot out for the right to be crowned the MK Wanderers Penalty Champion 2007.
In addition to all our players turning up to take penalties there will be a bouncy castle, BBQ, teas / coffees, ice cream, candy floss etc. and we hope to secure a licence to run our own bar. We are also looking to see what support there might be for an inter club parents match.
Our mens reserve team will be playing a home fixture against Syresham Reserve that afternoon so the message is that we want the whole family to come down and enjoy part of the day with the rest of the club. Watch your boy take his penalties, have a drink and something to eat, cheer on the mens team, enjoy the warm sunshine (!) and relax at the MK Wanderers Day.
